Upcoming Deadline for Federal Contractors & Sub Contractors to Adopt Updated Self-ID of Disability Form!

If your business is a federal contractor or subcontractor, beginning August 4, 2020, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs' (OFCCP )has mandated that you must incorporate the updated Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability Form (CC-305) into your applicant and human resources systems and processes.

Reason for Update?

The OFCCP states this form has been streamlined and revised in an effort to increase the response rate of applicants and employees who voluntarily self-identify their disability status. The OFCCP hopes that if more applicants and employees self-identify this will aid contractors in developing programs to increase the utilization of people with disabilities in their workforce.

Does this Mandate Apply to Your Business?

Pursuant to Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act - this mandate does apply to your business if:

  • you have federal contracts or sub-contracts and
  • you have at least 50 employees and
  • the contracts amount to $50,000 or more.

Comply by the Deadline!

If this new mandate applies to your business because it is considered a federal contractor or subcontractor, you should ensure your company has already taken or is taking steps to implement/adopt the new form(s), (available in English, Spanish and Other languages), into your employment application and on-boarding processes by August 4th.
